CTMR Mechanics & Devices Core Featured at Fujifilm Scalable 3D Biology Workshop- 9/23/26

We’re excited to share that Kristi Kooiker, PhD, Research Scientist in the Moussavi-Harami Lab and UW Center for Translational Muscle Research (CTMR) Mechanics & Devices Core Personnel, will be presenting at the Scalable 3D Biology Workshop Seattle 2026, hosted by FUJIFILM Cellular Dynamics in partnership with Yokogawa. Kristi’s talk, “Multiscale Analytics of the Effects of Disease Mutations and Targeted Therapeutics in 3D Stem Cell Heart and Skeletal Models,” runs from 4:05–4:25 PM and will highlight how 3D stem cell models of heart and skeletal muscle are being used to study disease mutations and evaluate targeted therapeutics.

The workshop itself brings together researchers working at the leading edge of 3D biology, with a full afternoon of keynote talks exploring how advanced in vitro models, including spheroids, assembloids, organoids, and microphysiological systems, are helping bridge the gap between lab research and the clinic, as the field moves toward reduced reliance on animal testing. Attendees can also catch live demonstrations of Yokogawa’s CQ3000 high-content imaging system at the UW Institute for Stem Cell and Regnerative Medicine (ISCMR) Garvey Imaging Core, plus a networking happy hour and poster session to follow.

When: Wednesday, September 23, 2026, 1:00 PM check-in, program 1:30–4:30 PM
Where: UW South Lake Union (SLU) campus, Seattle, WA

Space is limited, so we encourage anyone interested in 3D tissue models, drug development, or translational muscle research to register soon. [Register here] to reserve your spot and see Kristi’s talk along with the rest of the day’s lineup.
