Join the FREE Introductory Workshop on using the Command Line for Scientific Computing

The UW Center for Translational Muscle Research (CTMR) Quantitative Analysis Core is excited to host a FREE introductory workshop on using the Command Line for Scientific Computing.

Through partnership with the UW eScience Institute, CTMR Quantitative Analysis Core personnel will deliver the first in a potential series of Software Carpentry workshops aimed at giving students, faculty and staff the framework to approach computational tasks in their science and engineering. In this first workshop, learners will be exposed to the command line and interacting with computing infrastructure using the terminal. This framework enables learners to utilize on premise and cloud computing solutions like Hyak and Amazon Web Services by teaching them the universal tooling available on these platforms.  Concepts and motivations enabled by this workshop include, but are not limited to: Automation of repetitive tasks, efficient data handling and hygiene, High Performance Computing, reproducibility and portability, and leveraging the ever-expanding universe of command line tools for science and engineering.

We hope you can join us!
